When a business moves to Basildon, we want it to succeed and we'll support it every step of the way to do that. Whatever your business, whatever your sector we'll give you access to the tools, training and advice that mean you have the best opportunity to grow.
We know about the latest loans and funding pots available and we can help you apply. To find out more about potential funding available now visit our funding page.
Even in a micro-business, the key to growth is never to stop learning. We hold a number of events, specifically designed for Basildon businesses, to make sure you have access to the latest thinking on key business issues including marketing, finances and tax and business development. Thanks to the support of our training partners, these events are predominantly free for business based in the borough.
We also understand that starting out can be a daunting prospect so we arrange networking opportunities to meet and chat with other businesses, learn and make useful connections.
Visit our calendar of training and networking events.
If you would like an event not currently included on our list please contact the Economic Development team who can review your request.
We work with a number of training partners to deliver these events including:
The Basildon Business Group (BBG)
The Basildon Business Group (BBG) is a private-sector led business group who provide the voice of local business to Basildon Council, identifying the needs and requirements to boost the borough's economy.
In addition to providing an effective channel of communication between the business community and Basildon Council, BBG works to help identify opportunities, assist in the promotion of the borough and to provide support to business. BBG meets quarterly with Basildon Council to steer programmes of activity that help drive the economy forward in Basildon, Billericay, Laindon, Pitsea and Wickford.
BBG welcomes new members and anyone who wishes to raise an idea or meets quarterly to discuss matters brought to its attention. Such matters may also be raised with the Council's Managing Director.
BBG is chaired by David Barnes of Barnes IT Solutions. David is also the South Essex Chairman for the Federation of Small Businesses.
