The new mini-hospital, which is set to take “around 18-months” to complete, will create 300 new jobs and aims to slash NHS waiting lists. Both NHS and private healthcare services will be on offer across the three floors and the Basildon Health Centre will be equipped with MRI machines, CT scanners, X-ray machines and ultrasound equipment. As well as having the equipment, it will also offer 24/7 medical care, day and outpatient services and overnight hospital rooms.
With the Eastgate Shopping Centre becoming a mixed-use space as a result of the health centre, it’ll drive even more footfall to the businesses surrounding it.
