The Launch-It programme is back for its third year, continuing to provide aspiring entrepreneurs with the skills, support, and confidence to take their ideas forward.
Since it began, the programme has delivered real impact: creating 8 new jobs and supporting participants to secure over £350,000 in finance and investment during its first two years. Launch-It offers a blend of practical workshops, one-to-one mentoring, and access to a supportive community, helping people turn their ideas into thriving businesses.
This year's programme kicks off with the Idea to Business event on Thursday 23 October 2025 from 6pm to 9pm. The evening will give potential applicants and the wider community the chance to find out more about the programme, connect with other entrepreneurs, and be inspired by success stories.
We are delighted to welcome Nana Parry as the keynote speaker at the event. Nana is a respected entrepreneur, founder, and advisor who has supported hundreds of start-ups and scale-ups across the UK. Known for his candid and insightful approach, Nana will share his personal journey and lessons on resilience, growth, and building impactful businesses.
Applications for the programme close on Sunday 9 November 2025, with the first session starting on Thursday 20 November 2025. Sessions will run every Thursday evening in a hybrid format, combining online delivery with in-person sessions at South Essex College.
Cllr Jessica Power, Cabinet Member for Regeneration, Jobs & Skills, said: "The Launch-It programme has already made a measurable difference, supporting local people to create 8 jobs and raise more than £350,000 in finance and investment. We are proud to see the programme return for a third year, giving even more aspiring entrepreneurs the chance to develop their ideas and grow successful businesses here in Basildon."
The Launch-It programme is now firmly established as a cornerstone of business support in South Essex, helping local people transform their ideas into businesses that create jobs, growth, and long-term opportunity.
